AWS Ride Along Blog & YouTube Series

So as many of you know, I decided in 2021 that in my “spare time” I was going to start learning more about AWS. Well that didn’t go so well… lol… so I decided to give myself a “goal” and I signed up for the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam for the fall or 2021. As I sat there taking the exam I was starting to be convinced I was NOT going to pass it. So I was so truly stoked when I passed!

I really wanted to get the cert and the studying “behind me” because one week after I sat the exam I was to start a brand new job at Cisco and was going to need to majorly switch gears and immerse myself in “newbie” learning of what the team does, etc. Well and ya know… wanting to make good “new kid on the team first impressions.

Then about a month ago I just thought to myself… ya know…. if I don’t make time to “play” in AWS and build something, I’m just going to pay the price later when I am assigned, in my new job, to do a lab that includes AWS. lol

But where to begin? …… Truth? …. Well I really didn’t know where to begin. Cause I had never actually “built” anything in AWS. So I didn’t know what I didn’t know. But I DID know someone who was on the “cloud journey” (and was WAY ahead of me) that I could ask to lean on: Dustin Schuemann

AWS Ride Along Series Begins!

Dustin, of course, said yes! Which means I have had some serious late nights and long weekends now. Having tons of fun in my personal time diving into super newbie stuff in AWS. I think it is time to buy a new coffee maker. The current one isn’t making the caffeine fast enough. :). And, yes, I agree with you, Dustin should buy me one as it is really his fault that my current one cannot keep up.
